Abstract

This dossier aims to disseminate empirical and theoretical research on network education and responsible innovation in times of a pandemic. Thus, in addition to the context in which this opportunity resulted in reflecting on the role of networked education and responsible innovation during the pandemic period, a brief description of the topics addressed in the various articles and reports that made up this dossier is presented here. It should be noted that such investigations were produced from the IV International Meeting of Innovation in Education, better known as the “Education Outside the Box” meeting, held in Florianópolis in 2021, which enabled relevant discussions on the main advances in the field of innovation education in order to contribute to the challenges in times of a pandemic.

Author Biography

Marcio Vieira de Souza, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brasil, marciovieiradesouza@gmail.com

Graduated in Social Communication (Habilitation - Journalism) from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (1985), specialization in Education (two), Master's Degree in Political Sociology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1995) and PhD in Production Engineering from the University Federal of Santa Catarina (2002). He has experience in the area of media and knowledge, communication, political sociology, Distance Education, digital media, working mainly on the following topics: communication and education, media and knowledge, innovation in education, network education, sociology and technology, networks and media social , Social Network Analysis (ARS), video and democracy, , sustainable development and information and communication technologies (ICT), research methodology and active methodologies in education. He was department head of the journalism course at UNIVALI-SC, he was a professor at the Master's Degree Program in Public Policy Management at UNIVALI-SC. He was a permanent professor at PPGTIC-UFSC. He is an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) where he is one of the leaders of the UFSC Media and Knowledge Research Group (CNPq) and works at the Department of Engineering and Knowledge Management (DEGC-UFSC). He is a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Engineering and Knowledge Management. He is supervisor of LED LAB (Network Education Laboratory) at UFSC (CTC).
