The consolidation process of distance education in IFRS by using MOOCs as access to education

This study seeks to understand how Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) enable the access to education and the challenges in the history of IFRS to expand the courses available and reach a greater number of students in Distance Education. Data from 60 courses were collected and analyzed in the period of the first semester of 2019. As a result, we noticed that most of the students live in the countryside, they are from different age groups and incomes, and the main goal is to improve their knowledge; with the positive response of students in relation to the courses and an increasing number of enrolled students, IFRS gradually consolidates Distance Education within the institution.
