Abstract: Society has changed significantly over the last few decades due to the advent and
expansion of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT).
Education, as a social practice, is also affected, although it is known that
technological innovations tend to be slowly incorporated into the educational sphere
when comparing different areas. Anyway, the rapid development of DICT and the
new forms of use that are growing today, presenting important developments such
as generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), become a sensitive topic in research in
education, especially with regard to teacher training and , consequently, to didactic
and pedagogical processes. Training for teaching today increasingly demands a
critical understanding of the context marked by what we can call digital culture. That
said, this dossier's main objective is to analyze teacher training and its relationships
with digital technologies, covering the didactic and pedagogical processes of
contemporary education. Along this path, papers will be accepted that address
different perspectives within the main theme, such as the use of generative AI,
distance education, practices and training mediated by DICT, teaching-learning
processes enriched by technological possibilities, among others.
